Is it wine...not really...

So I'll keep it brief tonight and just say that I tried the Dogfish Head Red and White beer that Bob Woodshed recommended on his Beer Blog. I was not disappointed. It's made partly from Pinot Noir grapes, hence the post!

Much better only slightly cooled... Anything below about 50 degrees the flavors just don't come right...

I completely agree about the temperature. As with most beers with higher alcohol contents (barley wines, imperials, etc) they are best served only slightly chilled. I normally pull a bottle out of the fridge and let it sit for half an hour before opening. While it is definitely much easier to drink straight out of the fridge, the complexities and full taste don't have a chance to come out.

I'm glad you both seemed to enjoy it. If you want to venture more into the world of wine-inspired beer I would suggest trying Dogfish Head's other offerings. I would also give barley wine style beers a try.
